Tuesday Training
Debaters, there'll be another training session on Tuesday after school. Try to eat as much as possible during break because we'll start at 2.30pm for a quick spar from the discussion of THW allow religious courts to settle family disputes, which took place today/
Proposition:
-Thurston
-Yingchang
Opposition:
-Gabriel
-Me
Jennwei and Kevin were absent today, so I'll leave their team allocation to them.
Also, on another note, the second blog is up, though I haven't been able to post the notes up because somehow I cannot copy paste text into blogger. Perhaps it's this computer. I'veprivated it, and invited most of you, so open your inbox and look for the invite to be able to view the blog.

Also, on yet another note, the JGs motion for prelim one will be released on Wednesday, so...enjoy your Chinese New Year holidays.

Saturday Training
Hey debaters
As most of you would have realised, we have postponed our Thursday training to Saturday morning 9am-12nn at AVA Room. Please bring your notebook as we will be discussing the two politics motions, as well as writing speeches.
Also, the new coach should be arriving the week after next at least, just fyi.
One more thing: please try to look out for lower sec students who are interested in debate, especially sec2s. Any students interested can look for me at Class 403, or my hp number at 90254462. Just ask for Denise.
Seeya tomorrow!

Thurs training
Hello debaters
From now on we shall do discussions on motions that I will set latest the night before. We will follow a schedule of topics so that you can widen your knowledge on different genres of motions. So today we did a social motion on banning gambling.
On Thursday we shall do politics. Because there are many to choose from, I've decided to set two. The first is THB in a united Korea. The second is THBT US should remove the trade sanctions on Myanmar.
These are two country specific motions that aren't exactly globalized, but we can start small. Work hard, people. See you Thursday! Venue and date to be confirmed.
Please be reminded to bring your notebooks on Thursday as i will not be posting the discussion scripts online if you can take the effort to copy them yourself. I will bring mine too.
And on a side note, look out for any professional-looking blogskins that are more related to debate than this, because this is just a temporary skin.

Yc + extra training session
Hey DeBaters
Hope you all have had a fun time at your respective camps. Sadly it's time to get back to normal school life, and that includes CCA. Haha so CCA is tomorrow, venue is AVA1. For some reason I can't put it up in the other section so just refer to this.
Motion for tomorrow is THW ban gambling. There will be a one hour prep and the sides will be decided tomorrow so if you want to prep please do so for both sides.
The extra session will be on thursday. Do your best to turn up and we might, just might have a more fun exercise, like a crossfire. :)
Also, let's welcome yingchang back from his Beijing trip!
Seeya tmr!

Sec1s
Hey people [sec1s] if you see this
I'm so sorry for the bad sound system and for my salespersony boring speech. I know it was pretty terrible, lol. Anyway, to be more salespersony....
Reasons why you should join debate:
-Lawyer/Government Official
-English
-Critical thinking skills [thanks, chess]
-Confidence, yeah
-Knowledge of world affairs
-Exploring other perspectives
-Thinking on your feet
-Team building [yeah! debate is really fun]
I mean, what I said was real. I did have stage fright before, I was an unknowing girl who didn't know anything about current affiars, and being with debaters is really fun. Because we strive through thick and thin together, it's difficult to not bond. Though when you're the butt of many jokes like I am you might think differently =.=
For more enquiries, you can call me, Denise at 90254462 or find me after school at classroom 403 on the third level, above the staff room.
For MAD members
We;re getting a new coach! The teachers are probably still selecting but it's likely we'll get this guy named...Kenneth Kang, I think. If he;s the guy I think he is, the one who taught me during the DA Camp, then he's pretty good but can be strict if there's a need to. In short, he's a bit like Junsheng.
Well, we'll see him Tuesday, so yeah. Venue to be confirmed.
And for Nanhuaspeaks members, there's a meeting on Monday. Venue to be confirmed.

CCA Extravaganza
Hello people
Tomorrow's the CCA Extravaganza. I know it's been a hectic week trying to get our things in order and it's partially my fault for pushing it till so late.
So, credits to:
1. Jennwei, for the boards
2. Gabriel, for the speech
3. Celine, for this blog
4. Kevin, for the video
5. Thurston, for being my secretary of sorts.
Let's hope we'll get a batch of talented and committed debaters this year then! And work hard for JGs!

New blog & blogskin
It's the new year, people. And this only means one thing. JGs.
Well, Celine has helped change this blogskin and though we wanted it to be more debate-related initially, neither of us knew how to customise a blogskin so we decided to stick to this. It's red, so it's more in line with our supposed concept of being "MADly passionate". [We seriously need a change.]
I hope the guys won't think this too girly. Anyway, there's another blog up to store our past speeches and motions, and it's
http://www.nanhuadebate.blogspot.com/ There's a link in the Archives, or Golden Age, section if the above doesn't work. I'll private it soon so that other schools won't be abe to see it, while this one remains public. That way it should be fine.
I'll be uploading my speeches onto the other blog soon, after Camp Horizon is over and done with. There'll be a section where I shall update for upcoming training sessions, so keep checking that space!
