Heya guys.
Haven't posted in a long time, what with JGs and Common Test and all that. Things have been rushing past so surreally, I think I got used to it. I'm not used to having so much free time on my hands.
Anyway, it was great that we got through B Div prelims-we carried out our seniors' legacy by setting ourslves in a position of power in the B Division, which our seniors worked so hard to get us into. We may not have gotten past the finals, but going through the preliminary rounds has been a step, albeit a baby one, nonetheless. Next year, let's aim for quarters and beyond!
Now, let us focus on welcoming our fresh batch of juniors into our club. I am happy to announce that we have circa 11 new members. I haven't met all of them, so I'll just write some of their names down.
-Jowell
-Thurston
-Vanessa
-Gabriel
-WangYan
These are the juniors who turned up for the last training session.
We wish them a fruitful experience in MAD, and hope with all our hearts that they can draw out the potential in themselves, not unlike tapping rubber, and realise their full talents. More importantly, we sincerely hope they will enjoy their debating experiences in nanhua, and have FUN.
[I'm writing this a tad too formally, but I'm tired, and emo, so yea.]
Finally, upcoming compeitions.
There is an international competition somewhere during the June holidays, and we hope to participate if we are able to. Most likely we would be against Hong Kong. The details are rather nebulous and I have zero understanding on the procedures, but I know that we might just be going to Hong Kong. Woohoo!
And there's the issue with the assembly debate. We might just have the assembly slot, together with drama, on International Friendship Day. This is our chance to prove our worth to Nanhua, so we are going to make this as ineresting as possible. Our motions are limited to IFD ones, however. Any ideas, send in to Kwok Yingchen at kyc333@gmail.com
Ok that's about it. Seeya next Tuesday!
